You Have A Purpose

Today, we celebrated the life of my grandmother. She was one of the most loving, and enduring women I've ever known. She knew all too much about what it meant to sacrifice. After the funeral service my uncle handed me a package of photos and this picture was in it. That's my dad on the left by the police officer. It was 1987 and on a routine grain delivery on a hot August day the front right tire blew out. My older sister and I were ejected in this crash. She went out the side window while I went through the windshield. We all MIRACULOUSLY left with only minor injuries. This was a pivotal moment in my life. I knew right then as a young boy that there was a plan and a purpose for my life! But as I grew up, I lost it for a while! Here's what I know now... YOU DONT GET TIRED, YOU DONT GET BURNED OUT, YOU DONT GET SICK OR WEAK...YOU LOSE YOUR PURPOSE! It's amazing when people say that the weekend, or this or that day are their days to rest. These people need to revisit Genesis. God took 6 full days to create the entire expanse of the whole universe and all that it contains THEN rested on the 7th.. He had a design and plan with a purpose to be carried out. - that's our model to live by. So many people live for the weekend without doing much of anything Monday through Friday. What's your purpose? What's your dreams? What's your meaning? When did hard work, sacrifice, and busting your butt get replaced with "try your best, average is acceptable, and don't work too hard?" MIND-BLOWING! Our grandparents, great grandparents and ancestors would be sickened by the lack of our efforts. Discusted! For our results, our work ethics, our income, our happiness and unwillingness to honor our opportunities every day to change and live a life of purpose!
