How Do You Make Your Dream a Reality?

Turning your dream into reality.

The most powerful and influential aspect of creating your reality is YOUR THOUGHTS. Whether they are positive or negative, that’s what you’re going to focus on, that’s what you’re resonating throughout the universe, and that’s what YOU are going attract into YOUR life!

It's even Biblical, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7

So, If you have a GOD sized dream you really want to achieve in your life but have some sort of limiting belief that keeps you from pursuing it, one that suffocates the attitude of jumping off the cliff after it and building the plane on the way down to the life you desperately want to live,...then you won’t!

So if we are weak in this area, and negatively self-sabotaging our dreams due to fear, to lack of belief, or the varying presuppositions that we may possess, how do we learn to break down these barriers and set our mind on the unshakeable belief that what we envision and dream for our life can actually be brought into fruition for us?

Well that’s a tall order to answer in one single blog post. But I’m going to give you a few tips that have really helped me bring in some AMAZING things into my life and and even BIGGER things to come in my future!

First off, WHATEVER it is you want in your life, the best thing you have going for you is that you already know about it. What I mean is that you have a dream, it exists, it’s real, you’ve seen it happen for others and you know it’s possible and achievable!

TIP 1. Flipping your Fears.

Getting to the core of what it is you're really afraid of by breaking it down, flipping it around, and seeing it for what it really is, will allow it to work for you and not against you and it will set you free to press ahead!

Let’s just say your dream is to write a book. Now in this short exercise you can replace "writing a book" with whatever you want… maybe it’s getting fit, your dream job, driving a Ferrari, or earning a million bucks in your business, it doesn't matter!

Let’s read this dialogue between you and me and let's see where we end up. Y is you and M is me.

Y. "I want to write a book but I can't get myself to set down and do it."

M. "Why not"

Y. "I'm scared that if I do it will be terrible."

M. "what happens if it's terrible?"

Y. "If it's terrible, I'll look stupid."

M. "Then what?"

Y. "Then people will make fun of me."

M. "Then what?"

Y. "I'll feel ashamed."

M. "Okay, so you're not writing your book in order to protect yourself from feeling stupid and ashamed."

Now FLIP IT!

M. "How stupid and ashamed will you feel if you don't write your book?"

Y. "Very, I know it's a brilliant idea and it's a big dream of mine."

M. "so, will your strategy of not writing it to protect yourself from feeling stupid and ashamed protect you from feeling stupid and ashamed?"

Y. "No."

M. "And since you're risking feeling stupid and ashamed either way, which version is worse? Trying to write it and having it be terrible, or never going for it and living an unlived life of mediocrity, wimpiness, and shame?"

Y. "Living an unlived life of mediocrity, wimpiness, and shame."

Fear is all about how you choose to look at things, so by breaking it down and changing your perspective on it, you can let the fear of NOT doing the thing you're scared of, actually FUEL your quest for greatness and go after it!

Tip 2. Visualize and Affirm your desired result!

This is a rather different exercise, but an incredibly POWERFUL one and EXTREMLY LIFE CHANGING if you do it!

You have an awesome power that most of us have never been taught to use effectively.

Elite athletes use it. The super rich use it. And peak successful performers in all fields now use it. That power is called visualization.

The daily practice of visualizing your dreams as already complete can rapidly accelerate your achievement of those dreams, goals and ambitions.

Visualization of your goals and desires accomplishes four very important things.

1.) It activates your creative subconscious which will start generating creative ideas to achieve your goal.

2.) It programs your brain to more readily perceive and recognize the resources you will need to achieve your dreams.

3.) It activates the law of attraction, thereby drawing into your life the people, resources, and circumstances you will need to achieve your goals.

4.) It builds your internal motivation to take the necessary actions to achieve your dreams.

Visualization is really quite simple. You sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and imagine — in as vivid detail as you can — what you would be looking at if the dream you have were already realized. Imagine being inside of yourself, looking out through your eyes at the ideal result.

Mental Rehearsal

Athletes call this visualization process “mental rehearsal,” and they have been using it since the 1960s when we learned about it from the Russians.

All you have to do is set aside a few minutes a day. The best times are when you first wake up, after meditation or prayer, and right before you go to bed. These are the times you are most relaxed.

Go through the following three steps:

STEP 1. Imagine sitting in a movie theater, the lights dim, and then the movie starts. It is a movie of you doing perfectly whatever it is that you want to do better. See as much detail as you can create, including your clothing, the expression on your face, small body movements, the environment and any other people that might be around. Add in any sounds you would be hearing — traffic, music, other people talking, cheering. And finally, recreate in your body any feelings you think you would be experiencing as you engage in this activity.

STEP 2. Get out of your chair, walk up to the screen, open a door in the screen and enter into the movie. Now experience the whole thing again from inside of yourself, looking out through your eyes. This is called an “embodied image” rather than a “distant image.” It will deepen the impact of the experience. Again, see everything in vivid detail, hear the sounds you would hear, and feel the feelings you would feel.

STEP 3. Finally, walk back out of the screen that is still showing the picture of you performing perfectly, return to your seat in the theater, reach out and grab the screen and shrink it down to the size of a cracker. Then, bring this miniature screen up to your mouth, chew it up and swallow it. Imagine that each tiny piece — just like a hologram — contains the full picture of you performing well. Imagine all these little screens traveling down into your stomach and out through the bloodstream into every cell of your body. Then imagine that every cell of your body is lit up with a movie of you performing perfectly. It’s like one of those appliance store windows where 50 televisions are all tuned to the same channel.

When you have finished this process — it should take less than five minutes — you can open your eyes and go about your business. If you make this part of your daily routine, you will be amazed at how much improvement you will see in your life!

Now there are all kinds of self help and personal development books out there with amazing information for you to consume to drastically help you change your life, which I highly recommend reading or listening to some daily! But heres the solid truth, YOU MUST take some massive action on what it is you're wanting to do, to create and bring in the life you know you're capable of living!

You were created for so much more. BELIEVE IT!
